What the Amatsu treatment involves:

During your first session, which is known as a Balance, a detailed personal history is taken. Then using a combination of observation, muscle testing, and palpation (touch) further information on the current state of the body is gathered before applying a combination of techniques to suit each clients needs. Each Balance takes approximately 45 minutes.

It is not unusual to feel different straight away, although some people feel the changes over the first few days following treatment. Some people may feel tired; others get a boost of energy. The body is simply adjusting to the changes. It is always recommended to drink of water following treatment to keep the body hydrated.

General Principles of Health:

Dr Hatsumi teaches us that health can only exist when there is a balance between the Physical (Musculo-Skeletal System), Emotional (Mind), Nutritional intake and excretion (Food), Energy (Ki/Qi Life force) and the interactions within our environment

In Amatsu it is important to balance the body rather than a condition, as the condition maybe the result of an imbalance in any or all of these factors.  Amatsu recognises that there are a number of indicators which occur naturally and which give tell-tale signs that you are out of balance. Some of these, such as pain, serve as signs that something is wrong within our bodies. Pain is a signal within our central nervous system that tells us that something has gone wrong. Prior to the sensation of pain we normally experience loss of normal function. The pain signal can be referred to almost anywhere, for example, organ dysfunction can be referred to the muscles and joints of the body - heart to chest and left arm; gall bladder to left shoulder; liver to neck, eyes and upper back etc.

Treating pain with painkillers and an anti-inflammatory agent does not always correct the causative factors and often overloads the liver, which in modern man is already overworked dealing with environmental factors such as pollution, TV, computers etc.

All pain should be investigated to ascertain its true nature and exclude pathological causes first. Once these are ruled out a good diet, musculo-skeletal correction, energy (meridian) balancing, relaxation training and gentle exercise can help to maintain balance and alleviate painful conditions.

With Amatsu I treat the underlying causes, balance these natural factors to help alleviate pain by natural methods.
